Thursday, May 9 at approximately 3:45 p.m. Cheyenne Police Officers responded to a vehicle incident involving a juvenile near the intersection of East Pershing Boulevard and McCann Avenue.
According to statements, the incident occurred when a 12-year-old male attempted to cross Pershing Boulevard at the school zone crosswalk. While crossing, he was struck by an oncoming vehicle traveling at a low speed.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the vehicle, a 16-year-old male, remained on-scene to assist officers with their investigation and was issued a citation.
This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department.
