PARKING LOCATIONS
Q: Where can I find free public parking in downtown Cheyenne?
A: Two-hour maximum parking is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in on-street locations in the parking structures. There is no fee for parking up to two hours at these locations.
- On-street locations and parking structures:
- Parking is free between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday.
- Parking is free all day on Saturday and Sunday.
- Parking is free on City Council-designated holidays.
Q: When are time limits enforced?
A: Time limits are enforced Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Q: I want to move my vehicle to another spot before time expires to avoid a ticket. How far do I have to move it?
A: Vehicles parked in a space with a time limit are only allowed on that block face for the posted limited time during that business day. This applies any day except Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays unless otherwise indicated by the city traffic engineer.
For example, if you park your vehicle in a spot with a two-hour time limit at 8:00 a.m. on a Tuesday, you can remain in that spot for free until 10:00 a.m. When time expires, you must move your vehicle to a new block face and cannot park within that same block face again until the next business day (Wednesday).
Note: "Block face" is defined as one side of a specific city block where signed time-limited parking is available.
Q: I have a disabled permit/license plate. Do I have to move my vehicle after two hours?
A: Time limits are not enforced in handicapped parking spaces.
Q: Can I park my car in the evenings, on weekends, and overnight on City streets/in parking garages that require permits or payment?
A: Overnight parking is legal on streets that may have parking restrictions at other times. No fee or permit is required to park on streets after posted enforcement hours.
PAYING FOR PARKING
Q: I received a parking ticket, what do I do now?
A: Pay Online: Drivers can download the free ParkCheyenne from the App Store and Google Play or manage their parking online at parkcheyenne.rmcpay.com Permits are available for purchase at parkcheyennepermits.rmcpay.com.
Mail a Check: Checks can be mailed to the Parking Administration Manager at 415 West 18th Street, Cheyenne, WY 82001.

Q: What is the cost to park in a parking structure?
A: Anyone may park in City of Cheyenne parking structures (Cox Parking Structure, Jack R. Spiker Parking Structure, and the East Lot located at East 17th Street and Warren Ave) for two free hours. After two hours, there is a $4.00 flat rate or drivers can purchase a monthly permit for $45.00.

Q: Is parking free on holidays?
A: Parking is free in all locations on City Council-designated holidays.
Holidays include: New Year's Day, New Year’s Eve, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Cheyenne Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday After Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
Q: Why do City block faces have time limits?
A. City streets are primarily for short-term use by City residents and business patrons. As with many municipalities, the City of Cheyenne’s goals for downtown parking involve driving economic development by bringing customers downtown, creating parking turnovers, and voluntary compliance with city parking ordinances.
Q: Is there a service charge to pay online?
A: There is a service charge (fee) billed on all credit card payments. The amount is listed on the payment screen.
PARKING PERMITS
Q: Do I need a permit if I have jury duty?
A: Jurors can park in the two city garages for free for as long as they serve on the jury and the court will provide the jurors with parking permits.
TOWING
Q: Why does the City tow cars?
A: Public parking is for use by everyone. It is not intended for use by people who are storing vehicles. City ordinances provide a process by which public agencies can remove vehicles that are parked in violation of parking restrictions.
IMMOBILIZATION
Q: Who may be immobilized?
A: When a driver accumulates three unpaid parking tickets, they are added to a Scofflaw List. The driver is then sent a notice and has 15 calendar days to become compliant.
Q: How are vehicles immobilized?
A: Vehicles can be immobilized with a Barnacle parking device or boot.
